Athlete Profile: Lukas Harden

Lukas may come off as the most soft-spoken of the Infinity Bike Shop crew, but don't let that fool you. He can muck it up with the best of them. He's been with the shop for over two years now and is known for offering salient advice to friends and customers alike about what gear and nutrition works best, especially in our hot, humid, Florida climate.

How long have you been riding?

I do not remember when I started riding,  I just remember a lifetime of skinned knees.

How often do you ride?

At least twice a day, whether I like it or not rain or shine. I commute to work.

Do you compete/train in any other sports?

Nope. I barely compete and train in this sport.

When you’re not out on your bike, what do you enjoy most?

Reading and working on bikes.

What do you like to read?

Thrift store literature. I seek out old books with familiar titles by familiar authors.

Most embarrassing moment on a bike?

Crashing... Falling over while learning clipless pedals.

Most embarrassing moment off a bike?

I have no shame, so this doesn't happen very often. Let's go with laying there on the ground after falling over while trying to learn clipless pedals.

What is your favorite curse word?

The F-bomb, it is the most f-ing versatile curse word there is.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Honestly, I've always just wanted to ride my bike across the US. There's something about that journey... there are a lot of cultures and places to see right here in the US and from a bike, you'd get to see so much of it.

Do you have any advice to someone new to cycling?

Keep the rubber side down.
